After the planets accreted, the solar system was chaotic, and it was made unstable by the growth of the gas giants. It's really easy to create diagrams and floorplans, etc, and very easy to move things around. And if you get to be a more advanced user, it's fully customizable for more complex diagramming work too. While you can use AutoCAD for diagrams, it's more for detailed architecture and schematic drawings, so you may find it more difficult to use. Visio is the best diagramming software available.
