Photographic manipulation, type design and photo illustration are combined in a small CD design personal project based around sonic art! Solid sounds…

A simple, yet interesting type experiment using repetitive linear shapes to form letter forms. A tribute to the classic slinky. Some flexible fun with type from fields of all….

It’s fair to say that type and ink only ever meet on a printed page. In this series of images, the two elements are presented to us in a way that is a little more unusual. Images of black and white ink in water are accompanied by small typographical letters to generate strange yet captivating forms that appear to float effortlessly in the air.
A contemporary tribute to traditional methods of print.

www.60uniteforchildren.com APAG have printed a catalogue of 60 international artists in conjunction with UNICEF. The brief was to create a piece of work around the theme of childhood and UNICEF’s key values… this was my submission.
It’s intended to illustrate the potential within all children, in all situations, all of the time, everywhere. Not all children are given the best start in life. UNICEF help ensure those less privileged children are offered the same chance to develop their potential, regardless of their situation. The numerous columns of text on the buildings describe everything from child poverty and hunger, to childhood diseases, childrens rights and the goals of UNICEF.

This image was created for the launch of Adobe’s CS4™ suite early 2008. Used alongside numerous other artworks from all corners of the globe, these images were intended to demonstrate the power and intuitive nature of Adobe’s CS4 programs.

A series of images devoted to playing with various architectural structures to create new and intriguing 3 dimensional forms. As well as forming the bases of a master class tutorial in Advanced photoshop magazine, a selection of these works are featured in a new book available from Gestalten. (link)

Identity and graphic application of TRENDSETTER: a small dance event / venue in London.
The concept behind the identity was derived from the name and nature of the event itself. As with any trend the logo itself was designed to alter in appearance throughout it’s various applications. Ever-changing, ever-shifting…
The concept of illuminating the characters was intended to mimic the crowd’s attraction to the event as nocturnal animals are attracted to light. Stand out//innovate//set trends

Immigration is important to the economy (to a point, obviously not the sort of immigration we have seen in recent years, where there is mass immigration of the low/unskilled) and so the government is willing to look past the fact that ethnic minorities are over-represented when it comes to child poverty.
Interestingly, however, a lot of 'ethnic' children who are in poverty are from countries like Asia and Africa, suggesting (due to the lack of immigration to these countries in recent times what with increased controls on non-EU immigration) that child poverty is affecting second or third generation immigrants, and not those who have arrived more recently. As a result, limiting immigration would only have a limited effect on reducing child poverty, especially during the current climate, when a reduction in immigration would not see a corresponding rise in available jobs (joblessness being one of the major causes of child poverty in the UK).
It hasn't been linked firstly because MPs want to appear 'PC', secondly because there is little they can do about immigration, especially from the EU, and thirdly because those who are not originally British but are in child poverty are not recent immigrants and so child poverty would not stop rising due to such measures.
