Yes, call the airlines and get all the info on transporting the keyboard.
Musical instruments are a big problem because you cannot carry them on the plane and then have to go into the hold of the plane. Depending on the type of instrument the lack of pressure and cold and heat in the hold can really affect instruments.
This is the reason a lot of professional musicians charter planes and use buses.

You need to have God given talent to be a good graphic designer, not just someone with a killer software suite. If you don't, do the lawyer thing.
Both can be stressful, but at least as a designer you can be artistically creative.
