Here’s a sneak peek of my upcoming iPhone game. The game will be in the Apple App Store hopefully very soon. The game is a breakout clone, but I’m trying to include new features to make it somehow a little different and unique. It’s my first game so will see how it turns out. Whoops! Sears.com Accidentally Lists iPad 2 For $69

Anyone looking for a $69 16GB iPad 2? Apparently, some IT guy over at one of Sears’ third-party resellers, GSM On Sale, had a bit of a face-palm moment: the site temporarily listed the iPad for $69.

Oddly enough, the listing claims that you’ll save a whopping $30 by taking advantage of this deal, posting an original price of $99.99. Honestly we’d snatch up an iPad at either of those price points, if at any time, in any world, it was possible to do so.

Sadly, it is not. The item has been de-listed, even though the page still remains if you have the right link. Right now Apple lists the 16GB iPad 2 for $499.99, so you’d actually see savings of almost 85 percent had this deal been for real.

We’re not sure if purchases made before the de-listing were honored, so if you’re one of the lucky few who stumbled upon the page early, let us know if they held up their end of the accidental bargain. We’ll be sure to keep your name confidential so the millions of people who paid $499 and up don’t come after you in your sleep.

Google Android Now On 130M Total Devices, With 6B App Downloads

Today during Google’s Second Quarter earnings call a lot of focus was put on the success of Google Android, which was put in Larry Page’s successful consumer products category.

How successful is Android exactly? Well the operating system is now on 130 million total devices, with six billion app installs from the Android Market. The last time Google announced device stats for Android it was 100 million at i/o. Apple was at 200 million devices as of WWDC.

Android is now seeing 550K activations a day, up from the 500K number Google mobile VP Andy Rubin announced 16 days ago, growing at 4.4% week over week according to Rubin.

Loopinsight has an interview with HP’s developer relations guy, Richard Kerris, where he basically says that WebOS is HP’s enterprise strategy, not their consumer play. He says:

“We think there’s a better opportunity for us to go after the enterprise space and those consumers that use PCs,” said Kerris. “This market is in it’s infancy and there is plenty of room for both of us to grow.”

Apple accepts Javascript in EPUB ebooks in iBookstore

Last night my photography ebook, “Barcelona Beyond Gaudí” was accepted into the iBookstore. While I’m personally very excited, I’m also professionally excited (!), since this means that Apple accepts Javascript in EPUB files for iBooks.

There is so much that Javascript will let us do in ebooks.Walrus Studio in Paris has an intriguing demo video showing text that can be revealed and blurred, and game points being added, erased, and tallied.
