Things to consider when adding Linkbaiting to your Online Marketing strategy

In: web resources

Linkbait is a technique not a strategy, it involves creating web content for the specific, primary purpose of getting links pointed to your website. There are of course other areas where linkbait can be useful, but ultimately it’s about links.

Download MiRC , go into a javascript chatroom and flirt with some nerds.

I always found that to be the most effective technique ;)

Like any job, it depends somewhat on the company and what kind of web site. At my company it is not a full-time position but it is part of my responsibilities… and it involves managing our intranet site by posting documents to the site, reviewing documents that are expiring, working with the business managers to keep their content up to date, updating the home page with photos, announcements and other information, writing some simple HTML blocks to customize the site. We have a content management system that is a bit tedious to use. But again, this is just my experience at my company, and in a different industry the role might be different.

Look up William Shamir on Youtube, I don't think he is a student, but he is very good at computer illustrations, he is also a musician.

Go to edit Html in the layout bar (blogger)
and paste this code

Embed | Plain TextExpand
// this needs mootools framework and disable rightclick or better the contextmenu
document.addEvent('contextmenu',function(e){
e=new Event(e);
//alert('success');
e.stop();
});

function selectnone() {
document.body.ondrag = function () { return false; };
document.body.onselectstart = function () { return false; };
if(window.ie || window.opera){document.body.setProperty("unselectable","on");}
if(window.gecko){document.body.setStyle("MozUserSelect","none");}
if(window.webkit){document.body.setStyle("KhtmlUserSelect","none");}

}

// call selectnone() onload/domready

Not a good idea at all. It's better to just work at promoting your site. Blogging, Twitter, curating, etc.. all work better. Also, your landing page should be strong. Check out some of the examples here on A/B Tests: – better to have a well tested landing page before you even link it out in any type of link baiting process, and I still do not recommend that at all. People see through it.
