Ten years ago, my girlfriend flew home to celebrate new year’s eve in San Francisco, but I had to stay in New York to work, so we spent the turn of the millennium apart.
A friend of a friend threw a party. I attended, grumpily, as shown here.
Ten years ago, but it may as well have been a thousand. Everything is different now. Everything except that I am once again separated from those with whom I would most wish to mark the falling away of old things and the luminous beauty of new beginnings.

you should be able to find cheaper flights than that. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://www.BookMe.com and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

The man with the ugly heart. An elderly man went to heaven and upon his arrival there, he was asked by someone, why is your heart so ugly? It has holes and dents and is ripped and torn and shattered and even has pieces missing! The elderly man smiled and said, for every one I have loved and helped in my life time, I did it by giving them a piece of my heart.
Might not be a poem of new beginnings, but a reminder to how we should all be before the end. Love one another and be kind to one another.
