You really need to invest some money in a talk with a local civil engineer who is familiar with the soil conditions in the area where you are going to build the structure.
This is not the time to try to save a bit of money. If you have a problem with the foundation, then everything above it is in trouble.
I have 35 years of experience of building all kinds of foundations for various structures. I would not attempt to build without consulting a knowledgeable person on the subject of the foundation design.
