Unless you have been under a rock, you should know about the latest movie sensation that is known as “Avatar”.  So while stumbling around on YouTube I found a great tutorial on how to create the illusion of those amazing characters.

While the controversy over whether Avatar is a great movie is still under heavy debate, no one dares to say that this movie is not visually stunning to watch. And the characters are truly incredible to look at.

This tutorial was done by Klaire de Lys Art who spends her time on YouTube blurring the lines between Art and Make-up. If you are an artist, or just appreciate amazing art, she is definitely one to check out. The only difference with her art, is that she showcases it on the human body. And her tutorials truly are step-by-step reenactments of the entire process.

The Avatar inspired make-up took approximately an hour and a half to complete, but the finished results are astonishing.
