install download manager such as IDM(best one), DAP, IDA, FlashGet, Getbot and etc then try downloading with them. they may you pause when you are downloading.
another way is use another browser e.g. firefox and opera which have good download manager.

A lot of computers don't have the slots to put them in I know mine doesn't ask your friend if she has a computer with one if not you can always go to wal-mart and print them
