Zexee is a free, two column WordPress theme originally based on The Design Superhero’s previous design.
This theme was designed with the main focus being on typography and a unique look. The theme is released especially for Six Revisions readers.
The theme is provided to users under the open source GNU General Public License.

If the you use GPL code to create the software, then anyone you provide the software to must also be offered the source code.
You don't have to open the source to the general public, you do have to open it to the people you sell it to (and they must open it to anybody they pass it on to too).

word press themes are just php scripts and images. If they contain anything else like executables or are package in anything other than a basic zip file, then you may have some reason for concern.
100% of all themes i have ever download have been safe.
