In: web resources

30 Jan 2010

It is now been just over a week since we launched Design Reviver Answers. And what a week it has been!

We have simply been overwhelmed by the response from the design community, it has more than beat our expectations and we very much appreciate the support from everybody.

Some Impressive Stats

Up to date we have 255 new members, over 120 questions have been asked and a staggering 370 answers have been given.

WordPress, to be expected, has been the most popular topic/tag, closely followed by CSS and then by the sometimes tricky jQuery.

Heri Setiawan has been our most prolific member, by answering 29 questions (290 points). Next there is Cy Klassen with with 2 questions and 21 answers (210 points), and closely followed by Benjamin Alijagic with 20 questions (200 points).

How many points do you have?

Some Examples of the Impressive Questions and Answers

All of the questions, from all our members have been constructive and varied, resulting in intelligent and useful answers, here are some examples:

Openoffice.org saves in (approximately) ODF 1.0. This is how I remember reading it somewhere–I could easily be wrong. The difference is lightly described here:

I you save a document in Ooo Writer (the word equivalent) the extension is .odt. A simple way to see the underlying XML on a windoze box is to change the extension to .zip and browse the resultant compressed folder.

I apologize if you were looking for a pure ODF document, this probably isn't an answer.

In the forums, it says they have troubles sending emails to Yahoo beside newsletters. On Meez, it says you'll need to use a different email that's not Yahoo.

Depends on what language you are writing in.

If you use the Microsoft Dot Net framework you can easily read in XML files using the XML classes provided.

Once you've got the tags & data you can reformat it however you want and output it via a stream to a new file.
