Your editorial was written before the last IPCC Assessment and is of no current educational value.

In more current writings, Mr Lindzen acknowleges that mankind is causing warming, though he is not sold on the premise that it is the primary cause:

"Global Warming is, itself, the product of many factors, and its relevance to anything else depends on its magnitude. Emissions of minor greenhouse gases is a factor, but only one factor (and probably not the most important) among several."

Mr. Lindzen is a voice of educated reason and credible people like him are important to the discussion in keeping the media from over-reacting. However, even as previously disbelievers like Mr. Lindzen now acknowlege the role of mankind, the world has still failed to unite to solve the problem. The problem that Mr. Lindzen points to is over-reaction, but outside of the media the real problem is under-reaction — no reaction at all, in fact.

It is also worth noting that the highly credible university the employs Mr. Lindzen is very concerned about the risks of global warming.

"without rapid and massive action, the problem will be about twice as severe as previously estimated six years ago – and could be even worse than that."

A minority view is important to consider, but understand that he is in the minority among his peers, and that even that minority view recognizes that mankind is indeed changing the world's climate.
