Our education system sucks. There are no parents around to help kids who struggle so instead of learning they give up and get poor grades, and then we are forced to "dumb down" our standards to accommodate the poor grades.

Sence Vista is still in Beta, I would not be too concerned about the upgrades yet. Sometimes these "lead ons" don't carry through without a catch–in other words–read the fine print….closely.

Hi,

This sounds like fun! You can copy the alcoholic competitions and mark them according to both quality and technical aspects, depending on the seriousness of the event. Here is a sample scoring sheet you could use, taken from an official competition. Here, the participants had to prepare drinks onstage with a time limit, I think.

APPEARANCE

Very Good: 5 Points
Good: 3 Points

AROMA
Excellent: 6 Points
Very Good: 4 Points
Good: 2 points

TASTE
Excellent: 15 Points
Very Good: 10 Points
Good: 7 Points

TECHNICAL (each competitor is given 32 points for this section)
1 Presentation of Bottles
Consider that bottles are facing audience: 1-2
2 Handling Ice & Bar Tools
Consider handling of ice and bar tools: 1-3
3 Spillage
Consider spillage of ingredients: 3
4 Over or Short Recipe
Consider over or short of ingredients to fill the glass: 1-3
5 Garnish Neatness
Consider neatness and care in preparing the drink: 1-3
6 Overall neatness
Consider overall neatness of preparing the drinks: 1-3
7 Handling of glasses
Consider general handling of glasses: 3
8 Overall Efficiency
Consider self-assurance and deftness: 1-4
9 Time limit
Consider time limit of 7 minutes to make the drinks: 5
Total deduction points (fault points)

Finally, one has the Overall Impression of Drink
EXCELLENT – 4 Points VERY GOOD – 3 Points GOOD – 2 Points FAIR – 1 Point.

You can use this category in case of a tie. Enjoy judging and good luck!
