Automotive Next Level Concept Designs

As you know, I’ve started an OMG category of art here on Bit Rebels, and this is another artist for that very select group that make your jaw hang open while you say, oh my gosh. Daniel Simon focuses on Automotive Futurism.

I first learned about his work when a friend of mine showed me a copy of Daniel’s picture book, entitled “Cosmic Motors.” After glancing at the first page, I had to stop what I was doing and go through each one of the over 300 illustrations while drooling uncontrollably.

These illustrations aren’t just concept designs; they are next level concept designs with a twist. The crazy thing to me is that every one of these illustrations comes out of Daniel’s head and into a sketch, then rendering, then to 3-D art and finally to hyper real illustrations, as shown in the video below. People with this kind of creativity and talent blow me away and inspire me beyond measure. You’ve got to get your hands on one of these books if you can. In the meantime, here is a taste of the magic:

Thank you very much to http://www.darkroastedblend.com for the fabulous photographs!

P[student selects a particular section] = 1/7

P[4 students all select that particular section] = [1/7]^4

but any of 7 sections could be the "particular" section,
so 7*[1/7]^4
= 1 / 7^3

ans: 1/343

Hey… cool project. First, pick the right tools. I'd use MS Power Point or a similar presentation application because it has graphics and lends itself to short, easy to read text. By the way, 8 yo in the First Grade?

Second, keep it short. The reading time should not exceed 20 minutes.

Third, each physical property (your list of 6) should be couched in real, First Grader experiences… nothing abstract. [See example at end.]

Finally, as a sort of outline, I'd use the impulse equation dP = F dt; so your book can have a logical progression from beginning to end.

EXAMPLE: dP = (M + m) (v1 – v0) = k(M + m)g (t1 – t0) = F dt

1.Mass…M = red wagon belonging to Joey (a 6 yo boy)
2.Force… Joey pulls the red wagon with pull force P, the longer (t1 – t0) he pulls the faster the red wagon goes
3.Newton's 3 laws of motion
… Red wagon accelerates from a stop as a = P/M, which is why v1 = a (t1 – t0)
… When red wagon and Joey are moving at speed v1, his pull p = f = kMg friction force pulling back
… Joey drops the handle on the red wagon when he sees Mary, the cute little redheaded girl, but the wagon coasts some distance (inertia)
5.Weight..Joey offers ride to Mary (a 6 yo girl) whose weight is w = mg
4.Normal Force…now red wagon plus Mary weigh (M + m)g = W pushing down on the wheels
6.Friction:..Joey finds he must pull harder than when the wagon was empty 'cause P = k(m + M)g > kMg = p with Mary on board

You can more easily discern the correctness of an action by noting the reactions of the ones whose opinions you trust and respect.

Talk about a disconnected set of questions —-. The radical Kurds are comfortable with risking the chance of an independent Iraqi Kurdistan to enslave the Turks in eastern Turkey under a Kurdish minority. Basically it is the same old game of gimme more power. The Turkish Parliament gave the Prime Minister the power to invade northern Iraq to attack the radical Kurds who are no more then basic terrorists. It has absolutely nothing to do with oil or the price of oil. It has everything to do with providing security for Turkish citizens. Having said that, if Turkey hadn't had a tizzy fit at the beginning of the Iraq war and invaded along with the USA, this would not be a concern now. They are drowning in their own stupidity.
