Yesterday, for vague reasons, AT&T’s website stopped selling iPhones to New York City residents. iPhones were still being sold in AT&T’s physical stores, which created a lot of confusion (something the company’s statements and service reps didn’t help alleviate).
While the exact reasons for the iPhone being yanked are still blurry (it may have been due to fraud concerns), the issue is now moot as AT&T’s website has begun selling iPhones to New York City residents once again. If you’re a New Yorker and you try to buy an iPhone from the AT&T website, you’re going to actually be able to follow through on your order.
AT&T’s decision to resume iPhone sales in the NYC area likely means one of two things: Either the company solved the fraud problem or (more likely) it wanted to get out of the negatively cast spotlight.
With many New Yorkers not happy with AT&T’s coverage, they didn’t need any more bad press.

Go into the store and refuse to pay. That's BS (but then again, you DID pick at&t as your service provider). Did you make sure to explain that the phone is defective? Anyways, go into the store or call in to at&t's customer service line and explain the problem, and request a FREE replacement. If they should ask for a return fee then kindly explain that you will not pay it and expect a free replacement, and if they give you trouble turn on bitch mode, and if you must, demand to speak to a supervisor or even a district manager. You will get what you want, but if what you are saying is true, then sadly you may have to be a real bitch/dick to get what you are owed. If they don't want to hand you over or give you a # for a higher up, push for it. If you are trying over the phone with no luck, go into the store and make a scene. I hate when customer's do that, but I know from first hand experience that they will do whatever it takes to get you out of the store. Of course, ALWAYS start by being nice, understanding, and patient (sometimes that is all it takes). Only resort to lesser tactics if it becomes obvious that that is what is required.
You'd be amazed at what you can get if you threaten to go to their higher ups. Chances are they will do whatever they can to prevent it from going that far.

When I worked at an insurance company the customer service, entry level, paid between $8-$10 an hour. However, the opportunity for advancement is great! The more skills you have the faster and higher your income climb. Take into account the benefits package that comes with the position.

I would recommend that you contact your local volunteer center. They can provide all sorts of one-time or short-term volunteer activities that match your interest and meet real community needs as well. Most offer a very flexible program that can allow you to volunteer on things that interest you when you have free time.
The volunteer center in the Manhattan area is called New York Cares:
Good luck!

New crime associated with visa applicant revelation makes the security and screening of applicants tight. There are lots of frustrations too.You have figure out documents expiration yourself because sometimes,an expire document will never be requested by the embassy for renewal until last minute. This isn't right but you will have to live with because you do want to travel.I went through a lot of hassle for a visa and after 5yrs,i now visa.Good luck.
