A sheet of paper is a two dimensional surface. If the sheet is flat, then viewing it in two dimensions is enough for you to understand it. but if the page is bent or twisted, to get a 'real' visual image, you need to see it in three dimensions to understand its shape.

To get a visual image of a three dimensional space that is curved, you similarly, need to 'view' it from a 4th spacial dimension. Our brains are not well adapted to do this, so the two dimensional distortion is the analogy we use. But there are plenty of mathematicians – especially topologists – and more than a few physicists who develop a way to form a mental image of four dimensional objects. Most people could learn to do it, with enough time and effort.

But please! this trampoline analogy is a very VERY simplified image and breaks down almost immediately on a closer look. It gives you a very superficial glimpse of an approach so complex that well under 1,000 people on the planet have a clear understanding of it.

Various tribes in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Wikipedia has an article if you want to find a specific tribe.

The Haida were supposedly the first.

And I think the Tlingit are fairly famous for theirs. I've heard of their totem poles at least.
