I am Muslim revert, I used to celebrate Christmas, but no more (though I do have to go to my mom's house tomorrow or she will cry).
Ramadan comes a different month every year (someone else can explain that), and last 30 days. I had my first Ramadan this year and it was a most wonderful experience. I did the fasting and all that and experienced spiritual advancement I have never experienced from celebrating Christmas. I like being with my family, of course, but the gift giving and all that isn't the same religious experience as fasting everyday for a month and concentrating your focus on your spirituality even more so than normal.
I'm celebrating at this time of year right now that I am alive and happy with the way things are heading in my life.
