There are a couple of adhesive manufacturers out there that make a flooring adhesive remover. Dritac makes an adhesive remover and it comes in wipes….kinda like diaper wipes. I think Bostik makes one as well. While installing hardwood floors over the years I have used the DriTac wipes and they work pretty well. The only real problem is the adhesive has created a bond with the finish and it is hard to break.
