Francisco Coronado explored what is now the southern part of the United States in the 1540's. A sword believed to have belonged to one of Coronado's soldiers was found by a Kansas farmer. The sword is now on display at the Kansas Museum in the capitol at Topeka, long with a piece of armored mail.
