Your child's diagnosis will determine where he/she will go to school. If the school district has a class that fits his/her need, then the student will attend a school in that school district. If the child's educational needs need to be met in a specialized county school run by the Santa Clara County Office of Education, then the child may be sent to another school in another city.

The City of Cupertino is in the Santa Clara County School System's jurisdiction. The City of San Carlos is in the San Mateo County Office of Education's jurisdiction.

I'm assuming that you're talking about those cities that are in the State of California. You can look up how each school performs using the API index system that the California Department of Education uses to rate each school in California. Cupertino School District was an excellent school district for Special Education back when I worked for the County Office of Education years, ago
