They're different codecs IE different ways of compressing video.
The DivX encoder isn't free, while XviD is, so I tend to prefer XviD. It's also worth noting that XviD is open source.

Well actually it says about the quality of the print.
1) CAM means a video or the print of the movie is shot from the theater which is of course a bad quality, usually this prints are in the torrent when any new movies are released.
2)TeleSync is same as CAM but it can be better than CAM
3)R5 is a good quality print and is better than CAM and TeleSync
4)DvdRip is the best print you will ever get
