Probably yes. The sensors that the monitor uses to determine the position of your finger are located all around the outer edge of the screen (not in the screen itself). You can mess one of these screens up by simply leaving a pencil lying across the screen bezel. I'm pretty sure that anything you attach to it will obstruct the sensors.
