We all know Nokia’s shares in the global phone market have been in the decline for a while. Perhaps biggest proof of this is the company’s loss of dominance against Android in China where it once reigned supreme. Well-known credit ratings corporation, Moody’s Investor Service Inc., also recently gave it a grade of Baa2, which is Moody’s second-lowest rank when it comes to investment rating.

Yesterday, we told you about Apple’s continued growth in the city of Cupertino, California. Cupertino loves Apple, and the mayor and city government there pretty much give Apple whatever the company wants (in return for tax dollars of course – Apple is the largest taxpayer in Cupertino). Just up the highway though, Google isn’t too popular with their hometown. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the city of Mountain View, California is becoming unhappy with Google’s continued growth within the city limits.

While its always nice to be able to get a good deal on a product, it sort of takes the fun away when the product is the Logitech Revue with Google TV and it comes as a result of another person (company) hardship. Yup, Logitech has posted what they are describing as “flat year over year” retail sales and a loss of $30 million during the first quarter of fiscal year 2012.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m beginning to enjoy BBC content. Between the new Doctor Who, which is probably some of the better science fiction I’ve seen, to Top Gear, which is easily the most hilarious show I’ve ever seen about cars (I still laugh thinking about the time they converted a van into a hot air balloon), there’s a lot to like. And now, partially thanks to Apple itself, 11 European countries now have access to the BBC iPlayer, with the United States set to join them later this year.

Sprint has posted their Q2 2011 quarterly earnings report and it has come with some good and some bad. Unfortunately, the bad side means a reported net loss. And strangely enough, that net loss comes with news of Sprint having the “best ever postpaid churn of 1.75 percent and the lowest prepaid churn in almost six years at 4.14 percent.”
