With so many free icon sets available now, sometimes it makes more sense to not spend countless hours designing and creating your own. However, it’s important that you do find the right style of icons to match your design. In the case of minimal web design, it’s all about clean layouts, little use of color, and few design elements. This means that when icons are required, they should have the same minimal design qualities. Here are some of the best icon sets for this type of design style.
Maps of the world are often either ‘political’ or ‘physical’. The most important purpose of the political map is to show territorial borders; the purpose of the physical map is to show features of geography such as mountains, soil type or land use. Geological maps show not only the physical surface, but characteristics of the underlying rock, fault lines, and subsurface structures.
But in this post they share some unique world map designs, some are fun, some are weird, but all are creative.

Running website optimization tests can be a very rewarding process. You are able to see firsthand the fruits of your labor. You may be surprised how the smallest of changes can have such large impacts in the overall outcome of a website. Many times, once you get started testing different elements of a website it is hard to stop. You will keep looking for things to test and ways to improve your website. This is great but it is also important to make sure that every test you conduct is worth your time and effort; not simply testing for the sake of testing.

When the urge to redesign hits, take time to consider what’s best for your website: an all out makeover or simple, calculated tweaks? This article examines both and helps you decide.

The German government has warned web users to find an alternative browser to Internet Explorer to protect security.
The warning from the Federal Office for Information Security comes after Microsoft admitted IE was the weak link in recent attacks on Google's systems.
Microsoft rejected the warning, saying that the risk to users was low and that the browsers' increased security setting would prevent any serious risk.
However, German authorities say that even this would not make IE fully safe.

Mozilla's new Firefox 3.6 is about 15% faster than its predecessor, Firefox 3.5, but still is a slowpoke compared to the current speed demons, Apple's Safari and Google's Chrome, benchmark tests show.
According to tests run by Computerworld, Firefox 3.6, which Mozilla launched on Thursday, is the third fastest of five Windows browsers tested. Firefox renders JavaScript three times faster than Opera 10 and more than four times faster than Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). It's also 14.5% faster than Firefox 3.5, the Mozilla browser that debuted in June 2009, a slightly larger speed increase than Mozilla has claimed.

Actually, one creationist response I've seen here on R&S (and only here) is that "God kept the two kinds of water separate, so that some areas remained salty, while others remained fresh. Also, fish weren't as sensitive back then."
I'm not lying.
