Tezaa.com is an online community that is driven by polls. Users can vote on existing polls or create their own. There are two types of polls on the site – multiple choice polls where the possible answers are provided, and open questions such as “What is the best digital camera under $300”. Users can search or browse polls, or view by a tag cloud which shows the most popular tags placed on polls. There is a convenient top menu bar provided for browsing the site. When a user creates a poll, they are given the option of sending email invitations to their friends asking them to take the poll. The site also offers widget code for embedding the user’s poll(s) into their blog or other website.
Users can also comment on existing polls and email their friends with an invitation to take a poll. There is an RSS feed provided for Recent Polls, which in effect sends out all new polls posted to the site.

Tezaa.com was launched in June 2006 by Shalin Jain, founder of Chennai-based TenMiles Corp. TenMiles Corp. produces a variety of software products, including a helpdesk application and a Flash screensaver. The site has undergone steady growth since launch, and is currently hosting over 100,000 polls. The site has an Alexa page rank near the 800,000 mark.
What are the differences to other applications?
Competition to Tezaa comes from sites like MisterPoll.com and Twiig.com. Both sites offer features very similar to Tezaa. Also, both site are more established with a larger userbase. MisterPoll has an Alexa page rank below 50,000, while Twiig.com is ranked under 300,000. The overall user interface at Tezaa is cleaner and less cluttered than MisterPoll’s or Twiig’s.
How does the application look and feel to use?
The Tezaa site has a very sleek interface, with a minimum of objects shown on each page. Page loads are responsive, as are the editors for creating a polls or open questions. Searches return results quickly and browsing is also very responsive. There are no ads displayed on the site, although the site does provide, on the page to create a new poll, a search box that allows users to search Google adds for a given topic. The entire site is done in Ajax, and has a very Web 2.0 look and feel.
How does the registration process work?
Registration at Tezaa.com is required in order to vote on polls or create polls. The registration process asks for username, password and email address. Validation of the email address is not required to use the site.

Registration is free. There is no premium membership available to the site.

Tezaa is recommended to anyone with a question on a particular topic who would like to know the opinions of others. Creating a poll on the site is easy, as is tracking the results of the poll.
