It’s an opportunity to give your opinion or reaction about a book you have read. Your first step in writing a book report is to read your book carefully and thoughtfully. If you like, you may want to take notes to help you remember important points. You will need to write about the plot (what happened), the characters and the theme of the story. Write a topic sentence for each paragraph and include supporting ideas within the paragraph. Make sure you include the title of the book and the author’s name someplace in the report. Your final paragraph should include your overall opinion and whether or not you would recommend it to others. Your book report needs to contain the sections listed below. Although I would prefer it if your book reports were completed on a computer; you may write it neatly on lined paper.
