European Credit Default Swaps Hit New Highs, As Leaders Fail To Halt Spread Of Greece Disease

According to CMA Datavision, credit default swap spreads for Greece, Spain and Portugal are at new highs. Greece: 855 basis points (bps), Spain: 255 bps, Portugal: 397 bps.
Spanish and Portuguese bonds sold off today despite efforts by governments to convince markets that Greece financial concerns wouldn’t spill over into other nations. Spain’s prime minister recently described the prospect of a Spanish bailout as ‘complete madness’.
The Spanish 10-year government bond is yielding about 4.18%, which is far less than that of Greece, but substantially higher than it yielded just a few months ago when it was in the 3.8% range. Stock markets in both countries fell as well. Spain’s main index is down just over 1% while Portugal’s is down 3.8%.
Crisis contagion appears to be happening, regardless of what governments may say.

I'm not from Spain but i've been there and there are Black people living there (mostly African immigrants) and i didn't notice any racism towards them. They do complain about Latinos immigrating there though but to be honest people from all over Europe complain about immigration lol so it's one of those things you can't get away from, there is no point in missing a good opportunity over it.

Establish positive credit lines. Utilities, cell phones, etc don't count on your bureau (Usually they only report if you owe them money)
It basically leaves you these options:
Credit card
line of credit
auto loan
mortgage loan
Bottom line, credit card is the easiest to get. Credit cards are useful in rebuilding your debt because a banker can see how you are managing your available credit balance- that is, if you have a $2000 credit card, is your balance managed well, or do you owe $1997 on it.

People eat 3 meals a day usually: el desayuno (breakfast), la comida (lunch), and la cena (dinner). Lunch, the largest meal, is eaten around 2 p.m., while dinner is sometimes from 9 to 10 p.m. Some Spaniards also enjoy a merienda (a small snack) between 5 and 6 p.m. This snack can be a bocadillo (sandwich) or sweet bread that is served with coffee or hot milk. Schedules can make it tough for families to get together and eat all with each other, but most still try to gather for lunch on weekends.
Spanish cuisine is generally Mediterranean. Fresh vegetables, meat, eggs, chicken, and fish are common foods. Like a lot of Europeans, Spaniards go grocery shopping each day. Olive oil is used to cook most fried foods. Meals usually have 2 courses: rice or pulse (lentils, peas, beans), followed by fish or meat, served with potatoes. Each region also has its own specialties, like seafood, ham and pork sausages, lamb stew, roasted meats, gazpacho (cold vegetable soup), paella (rice with fish, seafood, and/or meat), arros negre (rice with calamari ink), and cocido (Castilian soup). Breakfast is generally a light meal of coffee or hot chocolate, bread and jam, or sometimes churros (a batter made of flour, salt, and water, deep-fried, and sprinkled with sugar). Lunch is a three-course meal. First course: soup, salad or vegetables. Main dish: meat or fish. Dessert: fresh fruit or yogurt. Soup and a tortilla española (omelette with potatoes and onions) are common for dinner. Fresh bread, purchased daily from the panadería (bread shop), is eaten with every meal. Adults like coffee, wine, and mineral water. Kids usually drink mineral water or soft drinks.
Here are some Spanish foods, recipes and how to prepare them.

Don't give up your US citizenship! OMG people from Europe come here every day and want citizenship in the USA. You ask if Spain has good jobs like the US? and welfare? It doesn't sound like you plan on working much once you get there. Why not just give it a trial run? For a six months or a year. I'm sure you can get a work visa for Spain. Think twice and then think again before giving up your citizenship in the US.

Yes they can close your account "just like that." To keep an account open, you need to use it once or twice a year, minimum.

All credit cards are the same in the eyes of TRW companies…although regular visas, mastercards, discovers, and american expresses are better for someone then department store cards. Also, you want high balances. Check out the article below to see how your score is determined and what you can do this month to bring it up.
Also, as far as your charge offs…just dispute them. You can have them taken off in 30 days and bring your score up instantly. Check out the second article to see how step by step.
Hope this helps.

Hi Naveen,
I am also an Indian passport holder with F1 visa. I need to go to Portugal for a conference in first week of Oct'09. It will be great if you can share any information you have with me. I am located at Kansas. I can't visit the consulate and calling them is'nt working. My main concern was if they have some deadline on the number of days in advance you need to apply before the visiting. Please, let me know if you have any information on this.
Thanks

A title company would normally not be involved in giving an estimate of market value on property. Do you mean a Real Estate Appraisal firm.? An appraiser will be licensed by the State and should be very accurate, but will cost several hundred dollars. Zillow is free, but accuracy is questionable.
A CMA by a licensed and well experienced Realtor should be very close to the quality of an appraiser and should cost little or nothing (in hopes of listing your house when you sell). The operative words here are "well experienced". The Realtor should be able to clearly explain how the comparable properties lead to the market valuation of your property.

In the United States, CPA – Certified Public Accountant
To sit the exam, you must have the equivilent of a Masters degree in accounting. State licensing then requires at least a year of experience, gained on the job, sometimes before you have taken the exam. Most other accountant designations require at least part of the CPA exam, plus its own exam.
